 Michael Essrig, president of SAFE-T-PROOF Disaster Preparedness Company, Inc. located in San Diego, CA, announced that the company has been awarded a contract to build a mobile earthquake simulator, known as "Quake Cottage," for the U.S. Navy. The mobile earthquake simulator requested by Fire Chief Cort D. Jamison of Fleet Activities, Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, will be used by units of the Commander Naval Forces Japan Regional Fire Department to increase earthquake preparedness awareness.
The Quake Cottage will be built at SAFE-T-PROOF's facilities in Sylmar, CA. Delivery is expected in early January. Quake Cottage simulates the movement of furniture and equipment and overall ground motion up to 8.0 in magnitude.
